by isleofman.com 14th March 2011

ONE of the best known names in the world of darts clinched the men's Isle of Man Darts Festival title at the Villa Marina in Douglas yesterday (Sunday).

Ted 'The Count' Hankey received £5,000 for beating Dutchman Ron Meulemkamp 4-1 in the final.

It was the first time the double world champion has won the Manx title.

And in the women's championship Deta Hedman beat Lisa Ashton 4-1 in the final.

There was a full programme of matches on the Royal Hall stage and the audience had the chance to see some of the very best players in the world in action as well as stars of the future.
