Aspiring young instrumentalists will start their bid to be crowned the 2011 Young Musician of Mann on Sunday afternoon.
The first round of the competition takes place at the Erin Arts Centre in Port Erin.
Those who make it through to the next round will compete for the prize under the adjudication of the vice principal of the Royal Northern College of Music, Linda Merrick, as part of the Manannan International Festival in June.
It’s the 14th time the event has been staged at the venue and Director of the Centre, John Bethell, says taking part is about more than just a cash prize:
The event takes place at the Erin Arts Centre at 2pm and members of the public are welcome to go along.
