'Celebrate the Pier' cancelled by organisers

by isleofman.com 12th March 2011

An event to promote Queen's Pier in Ramsey has been called off at the last minute because of a lack of support.

Organisers were hoping to host a 'Celebrate the Pier' event in Ramsey this afternoon (Saturday) starting at 2pm.

Plans were in place to feature photos and paintings of the Victorian structure, as well as having campaigners on hand to discuss its future.

Vice chairman of the Friends of the Queen's Pier Michael Tramontana says not enough people were available to hold the event, which he now hopes may be staged later this year.
