MANX skiing enthusiasts have been invited to join a special weekend in the French Alps for “Dads and Lads” keen to enjoy some great late-season conditions.
The weekend has been organised for April 8th-12th by ManxSki, the luxury mountain chalet operation run by Manx couple Chris and Vanessa Callow in Les Carroz, in the Grand Massif ski area in the French Alps just 1 hour from Geneva.
“We’ve had wonderful recent snowfalls so we thought a weekend for Dads and Lads would offer fantastic skiing conditions,” said Chris.
“Timed for the start of the Easter holidays this could be a great introduction to this most family-orientated of sports, or a chance for seasoned skiers to enjoy a last blast of the season.”
The trip includes three nights half-board accommodation in the luxurious ManxSki chalets. Airport transfers, lift passes and equipment hire can be arranged by the hosts. The cost for a father and son sharing a twin bedded suite is £520.00. Contact chris@manxski.com for more information or to discuss any other dates.
Chris and Vanessa Callow discovered Les Carroz 10 years ago and spent regular holidays there before setting up ManxSki in 2007. After three successful winter seasons 2010 saw them stay open for the summer season, although they have maintained a home on the Island and travel home regularly.
Chalet Plein Air is in an idyllic setting in a classic French alpine ski village and only 1 hour from Geneva airport. There are five linked ski resorts in the Grand Massif ski area, offering 265 km of pistes up to 2500m altitude, suiting all standards of skiers.
Many Manx skiers have travelled to the chalet in the last three years and the couple take justifiable pride in the number who faithfully return year on year or even twice or three times in a season.
Weekly direct flights from the Isle of Man to Geneva throughout the winter have also helped make travelling from the Island easier, although Geneva is also served by flights from many UK airports with Manx connecting flights.
