There are fears the Isle of Man could see more breach of trust cases within local organisations, as hard financial times bite.
That's the view of the Church of England, as a former senior finance industry worker begins a 20-month jail sentence for abusing his position with the Diocese of Sodor and Man and a leading Manx choir.
Diocese spokesman Reverend John Coldwell has been reflecting on the sentencing of 39-year-old Mark Pilkington from Port Erin, who was senior compliance officer with Royal Skandia until his arrest.
Pilkington admitted stealing ?21,000 from the diocese while on its financial board, and ?23,000 from the Manx Festival Chorus while treasurer to the choir.
