Cav aims to fight back at Tirreno

by isleofman.com 11th March 2011

Mark Cavendish has the chance to redeem himself at the third stage of the Tirreno Adriatico today (Friday).

The Manx Missile was nowhere to be seen yesterday as his big rivals, such as Tyler Farrar and Alessandro Petacchi, fought it out in a sprint finish at the end of stage two.

Farrar held off the Italian to claim his third win of the season.

Cav lost his teammate Mark Renshaw's wheel in the finale and Renshaw was left to improvise with a late effort of his own to finish fourth.

Today is another relatively flat stage, as the riders head to Perugia.
