MHK says project was 'doomed' from the start

'The wrong project for the site' is how South Douglas MHK Bill Malarkey describes current plans to redevelop the town's former bus station site in Lord Street.

Askett Hawk wants to build a three or four star hotel with 150 rooms, 75 apartments, and nine retail and leisure units.

Two months ago the Manx government told the company it must work faster, but Mr Malarkey says a different type of development is needed on the prime site:
