Thieves have cut down and stolen copper cable from the overhead power lines at a remote section of the Manx Electric Railway.

Police are appealing for information about the theft, which happened some time between midday on Tuesday and 3pm on Wednesday.

The cable was removed from the section between Ballagawne Road and Baldrine Road, Baldrine.

Officers say a vehicle and possibly a trailer are believed to have been used to remove the stolen cable from the area.
