Alleged management pay rises could affect ballot

A union boss says the chief minister was poorly briefed on the subject of Post Office pay.

Terry Pullinger of the Communication Workers' Union says Tony Brown's statement in the House of Keys this week that no managers at the company had received pay rises was wrong.

Mr Pullinger says the union, which is working to secure a pay rise for its members, has evidence senior members of staff have been awarded increases this year, despite the public sector pay freeze.

He says that may affect the way workers vote in the current, month-long ballot over possible industrial action:
