An inquest into the death of a 21-year-old Laxey man has heard he hanged himself in a remote location west of Ramsey.
The body of Charles Geoffrey George Fryer was discovered by a mountain biker who was riding the tracks on Sky Hill on the afternoon of September 25 last year.
A police doctor who attended the scene established Mr Fryer's body had been there for a number of days.
The inquest heard Charlie, as he was known to his family and friends, had been a bright young man who had suffered from bouts of depression and had problems with alcohol and cannabis.
He had been prescribed anti-depressants and was referred to both the mental health service and the drug and alcohol team, but hadn't attended some of his appointments.
Charlie's mother Winnie was at the inquest today (Thursday), supported by two friends.
Returning a verdict of suicide, coroner of inquests Alastair Montgomerie expressed his deepest sympathies, adding no one was to blame for Charlie's death.
