TT star Guy Martin's boat challenge to be screened tonight

by isleofman.com 2nd March 2011

THE first episode of TT star Guy Martin's new television series will air tonight on BBC One.

The Boat That Guy Built is a six part series which follows Guy, and his friend Mark Davies, as they attempt to renovate a neglected narrowboat called Reckless.

As part of the challenge the duo can only restore it using inventions from the Industrial Revolution.

Tonight's episode will see Guy attempt to make the perfect cup of tea. This involves building his own 18th century blast furnace to cast an iron pot so that he can boil water and throwing his own traditional Wedgewood mugs so that he has something to drink from.

Along the journey Guy will use other historical methods to carry out everyday tasks including reengineering a steam engine so that it powers his shower.

The Boat That Guy Built is on tonight (Wednesday) on BBC One at 7.30pm.
