Manx schools support for World Book Day tomorrow

A NUMBER of Manx schools will be involved in a series of events around the Island tomorrow to celebrate World Book Day.

 

Children will dress up as their favourite book characters and guest visitors will arrive at some schools to read to the pupils as part of the day’s activities.

 

Charities will also benefit from the special events happening in the schools with many of the children keen to support deserving causes through their efforts.

 

School activities for World Book Day include the following:-

 

Anagh Coar - children dressing up as book characters and sharing favourite books

Andreas - Eddie Teare MHK reading stories to children

Auldyn Infants - a day dedicated to books; children dressed as book characters

Ballakermeen - sponsored reading event for Downs Syndrome. Quiz sheets all week.

Ballaquayle Infants - dressing up as a favourite book character

Onchan - visitors reading books to children

QE2 - designing costumes of favourite book characters

Ramsey Grammar - design a book cover or bookmark

Scoill Vallajeelt - World Book Day assembly; children read favourite books

St Ninian’s - dressing as book characters; charity donations

Willaston - book swap, favourite book characters, afternoon book reading assembly
