MHK told her fostering fears were unfounded

'Get your facts right' is the message to an East Douglas MHK after she claimed foster carers in the Isle of Man could soon be paid up to ?50 less each week.

Brenda Cannell recently said some families would no longer be able to afford to take on the reponsibility, because of proposed changes to the payment structure of Fostering First, the organisation which provides such care on the Island.

However, the political member with responsibility for Social Care, South Douglas MHK Bill Malarkey, says the comments were both inaccurate and unhelpful:
