Mayor supports changes to budgetary process

The Isle of Man's national budget-making process has been questioned by the Mayor of Douglas.

Ritchie McNicholl says Tynwald members should be given the opportunity to comment on the proposals and amend them before the budget is passed.

An attempt to do just that was put forward by Rushen MHK Juan Watterson, but was defeated.

Anne Craine's budget was passed almost unanimously at this month's sitting of the court.

Councillor McNicholl says members of Douglas Borough Council have an opportunity to change the budget before it's voted through:
