It's Vagas v Ramsey in Manx Cup final

by isleofman.com 26th February 2011

Holders Vagabonds powered through to the final of the BSM Manx Cup with a 47-14 win over Southern Nomads at Ballafletcher.

Nomads were up against it before the kick-off, and their day took a turn for the worse when they were reduced to 14 men by a sending off, after only three minutes.

Tom Gascoyne touched down three times for Vagas and there were further tries from Leigh Kennaugh and Bryan Kennaugh, along with two penalty tries.

Jonny Beckley kicked a total of twelve points.

Nomads' points came from two tries, from Rob Keelan and Harry Brereton, both of which were converted by Jack Callighan.

South Lancashire and Cheshire Division Two rivals Ramsey and Douglas came face to face in the other semi-final, and Ramsey came out comfortable winners.

Tries from John Watling and Nick McCutchen, and a further 16 points from Finton Cummins (two conversions and four penalties) gave the northerners a total of 26 points. A Guy Ward try and a Tim Mitchell penalty was all Douglas could manage in reply.
