PSM woman speaks of Libya escape

A teacher from Port St Mary says she feels lucky to have escaped the violence descending in Libya.

Kirsty Bartley of Fistard was teaching in Central Tripoli as protestors took to the streets and Colonel Gaddafi’s regime tried to brutally suppress them.

She eventually managed to escape on a Portuguese military plane which flew her to Sicily and she’s now back on the Isle of Man.

She says the trouble flared up quickly:
