Further training offered to Island volunteers

by isleofman.com 25th February 2011

THE Island's Council of Voluntary Organisations is looking for volunteers who are interested in undertaking further training.

The Council of Voluntary Organisations membership is made up of voluntary, charity and faith groups in the Island and works to provide a voice for the third sector.

The training programme will provide courses in effective fundraising, industrial relations, influential presentation skills, developing teams and effective mentoring.

The courses will cover a two year period and have been supported by the Isle of Man Government which has helped to keep the course fees low in order to make them available to all.

Economic Development Minister Allan Bell MHK was at the official launch of the training programme which was held at the iMuseum in Douglas on Monday. He praised the third sector for the value it brings to the economy and the residents of the Isle of Man for their community spirit and generous support of the Island’s charities.

The training programme has been developed with support from the Children’s Centre Social Enterprise, CPD and the Department of Economic Development.

For further information or to book a place on a training course contact Nicola Libreri on 01624 673103 or e-mail cvo@manx.net.
