Gas detection work continues

by isleofman.com 24th February 2011

The Isle of Man Bank in Regent Street in Douglas was evacuated at lunchtime and closed for the rest of the day due to a gas leak in part of Strand Street and Regent Street.

A team of engineers from Manx Gas have worked into the evening, trying to identify where the gas escaped in the building and to carry out repairs.

Engineering manager Robert Gardner says the process was not straightforward.
