PORTUGUESE rider Luis Carreira has signed with the Ulster based CD Racing for this year's TT Races.
The 34 year old plans to ride in the Dainese Superbike and Pokerstars Senior Races on a new Kawasaki ZX-10R.
Luis is a four time Portuguese Stocksport1000 champion and came to the attention of TT organisers after excellent performances at the Macau Grand Prix.
Since making his Mountain Course debut in 2009 he's gone from strength to strength. He was the sixth fastest newcomer ever with a lap of 122.062mph. Carreira took two bronze replicas and had a best finish of 18th in his debut year, returning with his own team again in 2010.
Last year saw him pick up his first silver replica for 17th place in the Superstock race where he also recorded his best ever lap of the Mountain Circuit with a speed of 124.754mph. This makes him, currently, the 32nd fastest rider of all time. He also finished in 22nd in the Superbike Race winning another bronze replica for his efforts.
Chris Dowd, team boss and former racer, said: "Everyone in the team is really excited to be bringing Luis on board.
"He has massive potential to make a real impression on the top 10 at this year's TT and we will be putting everything we can into him to achieve that.
"We are grateful for the ongoing support from our loyal sponsors as well as the essential assistance from Nick Morgan at MSS Kawasaki."
Luis said: "I am really looking forward to returning to the Isle of Man and I'd also like to thank Chris for this opportunity.
"We have some good bikes and I think that we can do a good job. I can promise everyone that I will work hard to be able to reward everyone with good results in all races. Lastly I want to thank team Benimoto for their honesty and the support that they gave me with this decision."
