Vintage tractor destined for community project stolen

by isleofman.com 21st February 2011

POLICE are investigating after a vintage tractor was stolen from a farmer's field in Colby.

The tractor, which was stolen during the last month, was taken from a field near to the Ballakillowey A36 road.

It is a grey Ferguson 6 volt vintage tractor which has been described as being in "substandard condition".

The machine was lacking its bodywork and was not drivable but had been maintained by the farmer for a forthcoming young person's community project.

Police say the offender must have used a wagon with some form of lifting device as the gate to the field was locked throughout the period.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Port Erin Police Station on 01624 832222 or anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
