Viking ancestry survey at Manx Museum

by isleofman.com 19th February 2011

If you are a Christian, Callister or Corteen, or perhaps a Kaighin, Keggin or Kinley, then your services are required today (Saturday).

The only criteria are that you must be a man, whose father's father was born in the Isle of Man.

The University of Leicester is carrying out a study charting Viking ancestry on a wide range of Manx names, and volunteers are asked to pop into the Manx Museum lecture theatre, between 11am and 2pm.

Participation will take around ten minutes, and everybody who takes part will be asked to fill in a questionnaire.

There will be a short talk about the project at 11.30am.
