Isle of Man holds psychodrama conference

by isleofman.com 18th February 2011

The Isle of Man is hosting a conference this weekend on the effectiveness of drama as a form of therapy.

More than 20 delegates from all over Europe are spending three days examining evidence which supports the use of psychodrama as a way of treating, among other things, mental health issues.

Local coordinator Dr Kate Kirk is a psychodramatist and psychotherapist who works with children.

She believes the alternative therapy techniques can be hugely beneficial (play audio file):

The group meets twice a year and, as well as working hard, the visitors will be given a whistle stop tour during their stay on the Island.
