Quarterbridge junction closed for weekend

by isleofman.com 19th February 2011

QUARTERBRIDGE roundabout is closed to all through traffic this weekend.

The Department of Infrastructure made the decision to go ahead with the full closure of the junction after consultation with the Met Office yesterday.

The junction closed at 6am this morning and will remain closed until midnight on Sunday.

Diversion and warning signs have been erected on the main roads and junctions leading to Quarterbridge to advise motorists to take an alternative route.

The traffic lights at Pulrose Bridge and Groves Road have been altered to assist traffic flows and Saddle Road will become a clearway from its junction with New Castletown Road to Vicarage Road. This means that there will be no parking allowed in this area.

Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the closures.

The Department has apologised for any inconvenience caused during this weekend road closure.
