A SCHOOL in Port St Mary has new sports kit thanks to Friends Provident International.
The Castletown based arm of the company has funded the cost of the kit for Scoill Phurt Le Moirrey.
Jonathan Hall, general manager and director at Friends Provident International said: "Many of our employees have children at Scoill Phurt le Moirrey so it's great to be able to help out.
"We get up to 100 requests for funding every year - all for excellent projects. We would love to be able to support them all but it's not possible.
"We try and choose projects that will have a long term benefit. As the previous kit was used for 10 years we know we have achieved that with this donation and hope it brings the team the best of luck in their games for many seasons."
Jamie Rout-Moore, PE co-ordinator at Scoill Phurt le Moirrey, said: "The team is really excited to have the new kit. We play in tournaments all over the Island and it's important for the players' confidence and team morale to look their best."
The team of Scoill Phurt le Moirrey hope to replicate the success of last year's team which won the All Island Netball Tournament and the Quintin Gill Cup, under the guidance of Amanda Munro and Jan Farrell.
The season starts with the Southern Netball Festival at Buchan School on March 23, followed later in the year by the Quintin Gill Cup.
