Trade in your hearing aid in scrappage scheme deal

by isleofman.com 20th February 2011

HEARING aid users in the Island will be able to trade in their old hearing aid under a new scrappage scheme.

Manx Hidden Hearing, in Onchan, is undertaking the hearing aid scrappage scheme for the second year running.

Between February and May hearing aid users will be able to trade in their old hearing aid for £150 off the cost of a new device. For those who wear a hearing aid in both ears they can trade in both aids and claim £300.

New hearing aid models can be more discreet and powerful and can include WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity allowing them to connect directly to mobile phones and TVs.

Guy Wolstencroft, audiologist and manager of Manx Hidden Hearing, said: "The scrappage scheme gives hearing aid users in the Island the opportunity to benefit from the quality of life improvements that a new hearing aid can bring and at a reduced cost. I'm really glad we can offer that to locals with hearing difficulties."

The scrappage scheme is open to all hearing aid users with the only condition being that the hearing aid must be at least four years old.
