Commissioners under fire from FoE

Onchan Commissioners' future withdrawal from the kerbside collection trial has been criticised by Friends of the Earth Isle of Man.

Commenting on their decision, chairman of the local authority Brian Stowell said there was not enough proof the initiative was cutting CO2 emissions to any meaningful level.

He says they're looking at bringing in extra bring banks instead.

But Phil Corlett of Friends of the Earth says there's strong evidence such recycling methods are less effective:
