THE family of 44-year-old Mark Carl Green, who died on Saturday, have paid tribute to him.

A statement from the family said: "Mark was a loving husband, father and son. He was a big cuddly teddy bear and absolutely lit up a room as soon as he walked in.

"We are all devastated by his loss."

Mark, who worked at Ronaldsway Airport, was born in St Helens and was a passionate supporter of Liverpool Football Club.

He lived with his wife, and partner of 14 years, Jill and had three children, two step children and three grandchildren.

He also leaves behind his parents, two sisters and many friends.

Mark died outside his home in Douglas early on Saturday morning.

*Yesterday (Monday) 19-year-old Ryan James Oakey, of Wesley Terrace, Douglas, appeared in court charged in connection with the death of Mr Green.
