Politicians face demonstrators from Unite

A group of around 30 protesters from the Unite union were outside the legislative buildings in Douglas as MHKs and MLCs arrived for the February sitting of Tynwald.

They told the politicians jobs wouldn't need to go if there was better planning.

Many of those in the demonstration were railway workers worried about their positions.

They were supported by leader of Unite on the Island Steve Salter, North Douglas MHK Bill Henderson, and numerous motorists who sounded their horns as they passed.
