Former Barclays boss joins Boston Group

BOSTON Group has appointed former Barclays Wealth managing director Greg Ellison as chief executive officer.

 

Greg will oversee all of the group's operations encompassing Boston Limited, Boston Tax Limited and Portal Fund Administration.

 

The company employs more than 50 people at its headquarters in Circular Road, Douglas.

 

Chairman of Boston Group Richard Moore said: "Greg's appointment will undoubtedly add great value and strength across the Boston Group.

 

"His wealth of experience and capabilities make him the perfect candidate to lead Boston Group into the future.

 

"Greg is joining us at an exciting time as we further build on the success of the group."

 

Greg has considerable board level experience of private and intermediary banking, wealth management and operations.

 

He has a proven track record of delivering strategic business development and growth which will be pivotal in his new role at Boston Group.

 

Greg and his family moved to the Isle of Man in 2007.

 

Most recently he was managing director of Barclays Wealth across the Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey.

 

Barclays is the largest private sector employer in the Island.

 

Greg said: "I am delighted to have been appointed as chief executive officer of Boston Group and I'm looking forward to my new role.

 

"The company has an excellent track record, a superb reputation and I see great opportunity for the future.

 

"The group has come a long way since its foundation in 2002 and it is exciting to be chosen to lead the company into the next phase of growth."

 

Greg and his wife Julie have two young children, Lily and Ben, and live in Douglas.
