Tynwald demo planned over possible job cuts

A demonstration will take place outside the legislative buildings tomorrow (Tuesday) as MHKs and MLCs arrive for the 2011 Budget Tynwald.

It's been organised by the union UNITE to highlight concerns over potential job losses within the Department of Community, Culture and Leisure

Regional industrial organiser for Unite Steve Salter says talks held with the department last week went well, but the union wants to put pressure on the DCCL to change the way it has been exploring avenues for possible departmental savings:
