Workshops for participants in games ceremonies

by isleofman.com 12th February 2011

Auditions are being held this weekend for youngsters who would like to take part in the opening and closing ceremonies for the Commonwealth Youth Games in September.

Two hundred young people aged between 13 and 19 are needed for the colourful outdoor shows, which will be held at the Bowl in Douglas.

Production company Walk the Plank say the venture will appeal to performers, dancers and sports people, but anyone enthusiastic about taking part is welcome.

A series of workshops has been planned for performers and those interested in technical or backstage duties.

Organiser Liz Pugh explains how the plans will come together (play audio file):

The session today (Saturday) is from 1.30pm to 4.30 pm at Ballakermeen's Studio Theatre.

Workshops tomorrow are at the NSC from 10.30am to 12.30pm, and the Villa Marina from 1.30pm to 4.30pm.

You can email production@walktheplank.co.uk to register.
