Island could support two freight services, says MLC

A member of a Tynwald select committee which looked into the Steam Packet Company says there is enough freight traffic for two competing services.

Juan Turner MLC isn't surprised Mezeron has withdrawn its service between Liverpool and Douglas after a short battle with the Steam Packet.

He says the linkspan user agreement meant the company couldn't compete on a level playing field.

But he says the argument there isn't enough Irish Sea freight for competition doesn't hold water:
