"Hello to you all again. We hope you are managing to stay focused on your health and fitness.

If you read last weeks 'Ask The Expert' you may have succeeded in reducing your fat intake to 35 grams a day. If you have achieved this, well done! If not, don't give up.

A useful tool in achieving an intake of 35 grams of fat a day is to write down everything you eat and drink.

Note the meal, the amount of fat and the time you eat. Include your snacks and be honest with yourself.

If you feel you need extra support or motivation contact Body and Mind as we are happy to talk through your healthy eating plans.

A woman's daily intake of fat should be 70 grams to maintain current body fat levels. Any daily intake under 70 grams is an achievement as your body will look to burn existing fat stored on the body once it has burned the fat digested each day.

Did you know it takes your body half an hour to burn off 10 grams of fat? That's roughly the same amount of fat found in a bag of crisps. So if you ate 35 grams of fat a day that would take you almost two hours activity to burn off.

When we talk about activity we don't always mean the gym. However, a gym is a great place to really work on your key areas of weight loss or fitness as you can focus and commit to the necessary time needed to burn fat. You can also have one to one fitness coaching sessions with qualified instructors who can tailor a work out to suit you.

However we all know that it's not always possible to get to the gym. On these occasions you can easily fit your exercise into your home life.

There are great fitness DVDs available along with various fitness games for games consoles which are great as they can get the kids involved and ensure they are keeping active too.

Failing that a good walk of kick about with the kids will always burn off some calories. Trampolines are also good fun and allow time outside and time with the kids.

Most of all don't give up. If you miss an exercise session or have a cream cake now and again it's the not the end of world. We are all human and allowed to have an 'off' day. Just stay on track for the most part and you will see results.

Good luck and keep going!"
