SIX young people taking part in this year's HSBC Manx Youth Games are having their experience of the event - and their preparations for it - filmed by media students from the arts department at the Isle of Man College.
Community, Culture and Leisure Minister David Cretney MHK said: "The department is proud of the Manx Youth Games and the fantastic experience it offers young people.
"The video diaries will offer a clear insight into the benefits that the HSBC Manx Youth Games give young people, from improving their fitness and specific sport skills to forging new friendships that will continue long after the Games."
Senior manager at HSBC Bank Kevin Cartledge said: "HSBC are very pleased to be associated with the Manx Youth Games and look forward to celebrating the 10 year anniversary.
"The video diaries will offer six lucky youngsters a great souvenir of their Games experience and will create a legacy in that the film will enthuse more youngsters to take part in future HSBC Manx Youth Games."
The footage will follow six competitors' journeys from attending a first training session to collecting their HSBC Manx Youth Games medal at the closing ceremony on May 21.
The film will offer an insight into the trials and tribulations the youngsters experience during the four months preparing and training for the big day.
The video diaries will feature Aimee Cowin, eight, Samuel Ogden, eight, Luca Simmons, nine, Angela Aumonier, nine, Euan Wylie, eight, Louise Peake, eight and Hanna Dobson, 11.
Sports filmed will include athletics, badminton, basketball, cricket and hockey.
