Spotlight on Mezeron's freight service

by isleofman.com 10th February 2011

Questions are being asked about the daily freight service operated by shipping company Mezeron, between the Isle of Man and Liverpool.

That's after a shipping website reported the container vessels Mezeron uses to ship goods to the Island are being offered for charter from February 19.

The company, owned by Dohle, launched the daily operation in October, taking clients from the Steam Packet, including supermarkets Shoprite and Tesco.

That led to the Steam Packet reviewing its passenger services, amidst concerns there was insufficient freight traffic to sustain two shipping lines.
