Peel Golf - Tower Insurance Monthly Medal

by isleofman.com 7th February 2011

THE MEN'S competition on Saturday was the Tower Insurance Monthly Medal. The course was soft and there was rain on and off all day. However, with light winds and holding greens scoring was quite easy for most.

The greens were hand-cut the day before and were true and quite quick. Best gross went to Kevin Moore who had a 69. Graham Moore (21) was 4th with 67 nett, two 8s not helping his cause! David Buchanan (13) was third with 66 nett. Rob Kirkham (7) was second with 65 nett.

The winner by some distance with a 62 nett was Daniel Lace (14). An excellent 36 out set the score up and he held it together well on the way back.

Members who have paid can collect their membership envelopes at the clubhouse. If you have not paid, subs are now overdue.

Entries are now being taken for our St Patrick’s Day Open on Friday 18th. Ring 843456 to book. It is filling up quickly so don’t hesitate.
