Castletown has taken another step towards securing a slice of the Manx government's ?8.9 million regeneration fund.
Proposals to enhance the ancient capital, drawn up after extensive public consultation, have been approved by government, and now go on to the detailed design stage.
Improvements include new street furniture, more green spaces, clearer links between places of interest, and finding a location for a tourist information centre. There are also plans to revise parking in the town centre.
Castletown MHK and Chief Minister Tony Brown, who chairs the town's regeneration committee, says they've taken a step closer to realising a vision to improve the Island's ancient capital, for residents and visitors.
Earlier this week Ramsey unveiled its outline plans to upgrade the heart of the town, which will now be developed further.
