Sharkey's salon expands to offer ladies party nights

by isleofman.com 4th February 2011

THE first Sharkey's Cuts for Kids hairdressing franchise in Europe has expanded to offer ladies in the Island the ultimate party night out.

Sharkey's Cuts for Kids opened in Douglas in December and the salon specialises in giving a children a hair cutting experience that they’ll never forget.

Salon owners Roxanne Mottram and her partner Lee Astin have also been running children's parties in The Glamour Room which is located above the salon.

Children can dress up in a range of princess and diva costumes, put on a show on the specially built stage and have their hair styled and their nails done.

Due to the success of these parties Roxanne and Lee have decided to open them up to the adult market.

Lee explained: "We initially wanted to establish ourselves for the Kids' Glamour Parties but due to the instant success we have had we felt it was the right time to expand our services to cater for the adults too.

"We had already received a number of enquiries from parents attending the Kids' Glamour Parties to see if we could offer anything to suit their needs so we are delighted to now be able to offer something for women as well as young girls. After all why should the kids have all the fun!"

The Girls' Night Out parties take place on Saturday nights and up to 18 ladies can enjoy a night of karaoke or time on the Xbox Kinect Dance Central game. Ladies will also be pampered with a new hairstyle and mini manicure.

Lee continued: "The parties are available for teenagers and for ladies of any age who like to have a good time

"We feel that we have something unique to offer the Island, where you can experience your hair styled, nails filed and polished, a drink or two, food, laughter, silly snap shots and karaoke or XBox Kinect Dance Central until your voices and feet say 'no more'.

"And the party doesn't have to finish here as once you are all glammed up like a star we are only a stone's throw away from the Douglas nightlife so you can show the town your new found dance moves and vocal skills."

The Girls' Night Out parties include the use of The Glamour Room for three hours, karaoke or Xbox Kinnect, mini-cures, hairstyling, pictures and takeaway food.

Parties cost £50 per person. They are held on Saturday nights from 7.30pm to 10.30pm.
