MP Mark Field has highlighted the success of the Island's AIM listing sector.
Mr Field, who was the guest speaker at the latest event in the Chief Minister's International Lecture Series on Thursday night, defended the Island as a small international financial centre.
During his speech to politicians and business leaders at the Palace Hotel, Douglas, he said: "Today we live in an age that demands transparency and you need to ensure that the UK Government are well aware of your outstanding contribution to the UK's overall global financial services offering.
"There are more Indian AIM listed companies registered in the Isle of Man than in any other country.
"You have led the way in developing tax information exchange agreements, you have secured approved jurisdiction status on the Hong Kong stock exchange and China has made it very clear that they intend to do a lot more business with Manx companies in the near future."
Mr Field is the Conservative MP for the Cities of London and Westminster.
