PRO-Isle of Man MP Mark Field is learning more about the Island's space industry today (Friday).
Mr Field is enjoying a short visit to the Island after being invited to speak as part of the Chief Minister's International Lecture series.
During his speech at the Palace Hotel, Douglas, last night, the Conservative MP for the Cities of London and Westminster heaped praise on the space industry.
He said: "Your highly distinctive film and space industries are superb examples of innovation and success.
"They have meant that the Isle of Man brings into a British sphere of influence some very important strategic global business."
Mr Field is due to go and see the two Russian space stations, which are currently based at Jurby, today.
Island based company Excalibur Almaz Limited (EA), an international commercial space exploration company, took delivery of the partially completed space stations last month.
