DCCL says 'sorry' after job cuts leak

The chief executive of the Department of Community, Culture and Leisure is apologising after some members of staff may have found out their jobs are in danger via the media.

Nick Black says the plan yesterday (Tuesday) was to speak to all 34 workers at Banks Circus who might be affected by cost saving measures, but an emergency question in the House of Keys meant the news leaked early.

As a result, some staff may have heard the department's announcement before there had been a chance for managers to meet with them:
