ABOUT 50 people attended the Liberal Vannin Party's conference and annual general meeting yesterday (Sunday).
The event, at South Douglas Old Friends' Club, Douglas, featured the election of party officials, reports from the three branches, a talk by guest speaker Edgar Quine - a former MHK - and the presentation of the Libertarian Award to Sir Miles Walker.

There was also discussion and voting on motions and some had to be held over until the summer conference.
Party chairman Roy Redmayne said: "The summer conference will be our most important meeting as it will be the last chance that members will have to put forward motions prior to the general elections in September.
"It is these motions that form Liberal Vannin policies.
"It is our members that create the policies in our national manifesto. Liberal Vannin really does bring back politics to the people."
It was generally agreed to have been a good conference with one member declaring that 'It was the best so far'.
The day also marked the launch of The Skeet newsletter with those attending the conference being given a copy to take away with them.
This first edition discusses the issues surrounding the Manx Electricity Authority, the current problems and the solutions.
Liberal Vannin is intending to produce The Skeet on a monthly basis.
