Booklet published to inform over 50s about sport and exercise

A BOOKLET has been published to let over 50s know about the different exercise and sporting activities on offer in the Island.

 

The Department of Community, Culture and Leisure's Sport Development Unit and the Department of Health Public Health Directorate are behind the initiative.

 

Activities detailed in the pocket-sized booklet include aqua fit, a chair based exercise programme, fitness training, gentle circuits, ladies activity mornings, Walk and Talk, yoga, pilates and golf.

 

Contributors include Age Concern, Body & Mind Fitness Centre, the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture, Mount Murray Hotel and Country Club, Palace Health Club, the National Sports Centre and Public health.

 

The booklet also makes reference to veteran sport and exercise programmes offered through the Isle of Man College and local Commissioners.

It will be available from GP surgeries, pharmacies, post offices, commissioners' offices, dental surgeries, libraries, swimming pools and Age Concern day centres.
