Champions win after scare

by isleofman.com 30th January 2011

Reigning champions Bacchas A made a winning start to their defence of the Wi Manx mixed Premier League but were given a scare.

Two first half goals from Jonny Killey fired Vikings B into a 2-0 interval lead against the champions before Will Wood, Richard Le Page, Jenny Vernon-Browne and Jamie Brown ensured the match went as predicted.

Vikings A laid down their title credentials by thrashing Bacchas B 8-0.

Doubles from Kim Carney and Andy Harding and one apiece from Juan Corlett, Christian Davis, Sarah Blackman and Julian Colley did the damage.

Sven Lindeque and Eleanor Gawne scored the goals as Celts saw off Ramsey A 2-0, while Valkyrs A were 4-0 winners over their B side.
