Bowl ahead of schedule

Work on the redevelopment of The Bowl in Douglas is ahead of schedule.

Tynwald only approved the project last July in the hope it would be completed in time for this year's Commonwealth Youth Games in September.

It now seems that the 3,000 seater floodlit stadium and synthetic pitch will be ready by early summer.

Chairman of the Commonwealth Youth Games organising committee, Geoff Karran, says they may get to use the arena for a valuable rehearsal at another event:
