by isleofman.com 28th January 2011

Some of the greatest names and most exotic machinery in Yamaha's history will be on the island for this year's T.T. races.

The Dutch based Yamaha Classic Racing Team will do a parade lap around the Mountain Course....as part of the Japanese manufacturer's 50th anniversary celebrations.

They will also perform on Douglas promenade as part of the nightly entertainment.

Sports Editor Tim Glover reports:-

Names such as Phil Read, Dieter Braun, Chas Mortimer, Kel Carruthers, Rod Gould, Tommy Robb, Steve Baker and Giacomo Agostini will pilot the classic bikes.

On the Thursday of race week, a "Dawn Chorus" event will be staged in pit lane at the Grandstand evoking memories of morning practices - the riders and mechanics will be dressed in period costume.

Team owner Ferry Brouwer says he's delighted to be part of the celebrations at what he refers to as "the place of birth of motorcycle and road racing".
