The Treasury minister has confirmed town and village regeneration schemes will be going ahead, despite the current economic climate.
Anne Craine admits the subject has dropped off most people's radar in recent months, but says a lot of work has been going on behind the scenes.
The scheme was set up with a fund of ?8.9 million and so far only ?346,000 has been spent on design schemes for projects around the Island.
Mrs Craine says that figure will have increased to around ?500,000 by the end of the financial year and she is refuting any suggestion the money could be better used elsewhere:
