Licence fee committee still working on report

by isleofman.com 27th January 2011

It could be another six months before the Tynwald Select Committee on the TV licence fee submits its report to the court.

The committee was set up in November 2009 to examine the feasibility of the current TV licence system, and consider the impact of withdrawing from it.

The deadline for comments from the public passed a year ago.

In his reply to a written question in Tynwald, chairman of the committee Malew and Santon MHK Graham Cregeen says the report will be made to Tynwald no later than July.

The question came from Rushen member Juan Watterson.
