Government told to 'stop creating new posts'

Following the news of 'restructuring' and possible redundancies at the Department of Home Affairs, the union representing civil servants in the Isle of Man says job losses have been widely rumoured.

Secretary of the Government Officers' Association Angela Moffatt says staff across the department are very concerned further cutbacks could be on the way.

She is calling on the Civil Service Commission to improve comunication with the workforce over future money-saving measures.

Ms Moffatt says the way to reduce the government job tally is to stop creating new posts:
