Advocate in tears after guilty verdicts

An Isle of Man advocate has been convicted of money laundering offences.

A seven-member jury took two and a half hours this afternoon (Tuesday) to return guilty verdicts on Jenny Holt of Union Mills.

The 30-year-old was convicted on one count of money laundering and two of creating false records.

There were gasps in the public gallery as the verdicts were read out and Holt, who will be sentenced on February 25, left the court in tears.

Detective Sergeant Lynne Skelly of the Island's Financial Crime Unit gave this reaction to the verdicts:
